  This is what the apocalypse will really be like. Abandoned buildings full of emergency supplies,machinery left running, beeping and buzzing to itself and plants taking over.

  My father worked for Best Products until 1991 or 1992, I think.  His office was in this building, and I remember visiting him here.  I never thought I'd see the inside of this building again.  Thank you.

  We covered it pretty thoroughly tbh, there was no basement and the lack of any fancy executive offices was likely because of the modernizations done by Bank of America, who used it primarily as a call center.<br>Edit: this was supposed to be a reply to another commenter but YouTube didn&apos;t post it as such(?) but now it&apos;s heavily upvoted so I&apos;m leaving it 😂

  For additional context, the founders of Best Products, the Lewises, were major art geeks, and it was rumored that they would even trade their own merchandise in exchange for more art for their collection, most of which was eventually donated to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Ironically, many of their contracted buildings were designed to act as artistic commentary on consumer culture and capitalism, and it is painfully cruel irony that post-bankruptcy, all their buildings were either completely demolished or had their unique artistic features removed by their new corporate owners.
