Tim Curry's portrayal of the devil In this movie truly was the perfect villain. His performance was phenomenal.

Everyone involved was far from ruined by this film and the film itself was beautifully imagined and realized, but sadly did not find its audience at the time of its release.

It's actually a brilliant film and Tim Curry steals every scene he's in.

You misspelled CULT CLASSIC FANTASY in the title of your YouTube video there.

Isnt it strange how “ failed” movies turn out to be cult classics?

Rest In Peace, Tim. This movie is and will always be Legenary. To this day, it's one of the most beautiful movies ever made. Every cell, every line, every shot is perfect.

I had the privilege of being a teenager in the '80s, this was a fantastic movie. The weather change scene really impressed me. And also the princess' wardrobe change later on, Disney definitely doesn't let their princesses wear that outfit!

I saw this movie as a child and I loved it. It was not a disaster and I love it to this day.

I adored this movie as a kid. Helped to shape my perception of fantasy ever since. Was startled when the DVD came out to discover that there was a "director's cut". To think that even this was lacking around 40 minutes of content. It was fascinating to compare the two, and in my youth, I definitely preferred the theatrical cut. And while I have to agree that Goldsmith's score never truly grabs you as much as Tangerine Dream's does, the theatrical cut now feels a bit like the "ready for MTV" version; that is it all too often looks like it was edited to resemble a music video. Plus the director's cut's ending is more surprising and Jack and Lily feel like more distinct characters, even when they aren't likable, which helps make it feel less like a fantasy cliche.
