Maybe turn them into a food source and make it cheap so people will buy it.

It's amazing to see that they are in eastern flowing streams. So they've gotten over the great divide out of the Murray-Darling system. They are bloody everywhere.

Local authorities should license and track a scheme where EVERY waterway gets an open position for two or three local anglers to regularly fish those JUST for carp. Even incentivise numbers with a prize pool or something, since it would be voluntary. People get a stake in their community as well as making real, manigible change over time (adjusting open position numbers as specific local need demands etc).

Carp don't bother politicians who never get out in the environment, that is the problem. If it happened to be an election issue, we'll then, things would be good, until they changed their position!

I sure hope any platypus, with their electro-receptors to detect their prey, aren't hurt by this electrocution fishing.

I have seen carp where Leather Barrel creek and the Indi river miles up from Tom Grogin.

Government won’t release the virus because carp are in our drinking water supply eg Warragamba Dam (Lake Burragorang) and a mass death event will pollute the water.
