  My aunt was a victim of the Silver Gun R*pist back in the 70s here in Victoria. She escaped him and gave the testimony to identify and put him away during the trial. <br>Years later, I had someone attempt to abduct me when waiting for a bus to do my exams when I was 15, the police didn&apos;t listen and refused to do their jobs. The worst part? &nbsp;A few years later, a school girl of the same age disappeared about 5 mins up the road. They still haven&apos;t found her and I am convinced it is the same guy.

  This truly comes off as a cover-up by the local police. If they aren&apos;t covering it up themselves, then i&apos;m willing to bet 1 or more &apos;police&apos; there are actually guilty of the crimes themselves.

  It&apos;s a police officer, a group of them, or similar. This has been spoken about for a good 15 years already, and nothing has ever been done about it. I remember being warned about the area back then. Why arent the police interested at all?

  I live in this area, and I&apos;ve been saying this for years. It&apos;s not just Byron but a large section of northern NSW. There are cases as of two weeks ago in Coffs. There is so much going on, and there needs to be something done. I think it&apos;s a truck driver. <br>Look into Nimbin, Coffs, Lismore and Coffs missing people.

  As an Aussie woman who lives on the East Coast, the way the Byron locals attacked the woman for speaking of her experience makes me feel sick!! &nbsp;How are you that attached to your tourist dollars that you don&apos;t care if a few get killed while they&apos;re there!!!!????? Disgusting behaviour. Thank you for shedding light on these horrible events that too many are trying desperately to sweep under the tourist welcome mat.

  I am an Aussie and went to Byron for the first time about 25 years ago. I was clearly warned by people who had lived in the area a long while never to go walking alone there.

  Hi Brooke! I’m the girl from the first video who was followed and I wanted to thank you for the work you’ve put into telling this story accurately. I’m not an influencer or anything – just someone who had a scary encounter and didn’t know how to process it. I wanted to warn people and figured the best way I could do it is to try and make a storytime TikTok (it does not come naturally to me and I was very unprepared for the attention it received and my place in all of this!) <br><br>Unravelling all of this is ENORMOUS. I started mapping out the cases after sharing my experience until it took a toll on my mental health and I had to take a step back – but I’m still passionate about seeing these cases get justice. Everyone on that list is a human being who had a life ahead of them and a family that loves and misses them… I think a lot of people weighing in on it have lost sight of that because they’re either sensationalising it or dismissing the claims altogether. You told the sequence of events very well without the ickiness that a lot of true crime content does so I appreciate that. <br><br>Regardless of whether these cases are all connected or not, justice still hasn’t been served so thank you for bringing light to that. It’s been eye-opening to realise that safety is an illusion and things can change very quickly. Sending love!

  Aussie here — Bryon Bay has been known by locals and regulars from places like Canberra and Wollongong alike that it’s not a place you holiday alone in due to rumour about a cult that runs the shire. It’s been linked to many disappearances and high profile cases.

  It&apos;s not only woman. Many men have gone missing too. It has been know for many years/decades that people go missing/ end up dead around there. Thank you for highlighting this.
