College Couple’s Date Interrupted by Serial Killer, Only One Survived

On August 28th 1997, 20-year-old Holly Dunn and her new boyfriend Chris Maier were walking around the college town of Lexington, Kentucky for a date when a serial killer approached them. After watching her boyfriend be killed, her survival instinct kicked in and Holly dug her fingernails into the dirt, breaking them off so there would be evidence to be found if she was taken away from the scene. Holly then broke her silence and began to try to humanize herself to this man. Around 3am on August 29th, the Lexington PD got a call about an attack along the railroad tracks. Det. Craig Sorrell was asked to come to the scene and found the sole survivor. She would identify and catch her attacker, who turned out to be the Railroad Killer, Angel Maturino Resendiz.
