  Thank you, as a portraiture artist, these videos makes my day when they pop up as well as inspiration and an odd sense of connection to those who've lived my life 100 years before I was born. The phrase "hand grasping the smell of the soul" floored me. Thank you.

  The painting of the children on the path is incredible, it transports me directly into the story, beauty and life of the moment.  Wow.

  I'm glad that you included some of Werenskiold's illustrations in this excellent video. Even today, there is a stigma among some of the public accusing  illustration being too "commercial" to be real art,  just only "throw away art". As you showed, true draftsmanship, design and skill is paramount with both disciplines (and, I confess, strikes a personal note).  Thanks as always for these tours through an artist's life and work.

  Wow! Thanks for so much such a well put together profile of this artist! Some of those portraits and gestures… you really sense something there, really a master of the capturing a moment and a feeling, and such lovely colours too.

  This is a great channel. The artists introduced are really great and the work they did is brilliant, thanks for introducing them. ❤ and ensuring they’re not forgotten. The mainstream is focused on a very short list of painters and ignores a vast number of truly great ones

  Kunst kommt eben doch von Können. Während die zahllosen Windeier und Blender schnell vergessen werden, bleiben die Werke Werenskiolds ( den ich übrigens vorher nicht gekannt habe ) bestehen, weil jeder sieht, dass er &quot; etwas konnte &quot; und man sich gerne in seinen Werken verliert.
