I highly respect the boys disbanding Led Zeppelin after John's death. It is a fitting tribute to irreplaceable John. I hate to see bands with no original members left, using the original band's name.

As much as it hurt to see them break up, to go on without John Bonham would have been equally hurtful. There is no Led Zeppelin without him.

I can't name another band that was so well balanced. Each member was exactly 25% of the final product.

Says a lot when a musician is irreplaceable

From this we learn that Jimmy Page is excellent at choosing members for a band.

I wish the Stones had the same attitude when Charlie passed. Their performances on stage afterwards were just not the same experience, not saying their new drummer wasn't accomplished, he certainly is. But, imo, they could've instead just retired gracefully with Charlie gone.

Zeppelin is one of those bands, where you just can't replace any one of them. Especially Bonzo.

I think Zeppelin wouldn’t have been the same if they simply replaced the drummer, and ending it was the honorable thing to do.
