On that chart Jay showed, I pretty much do all of the above. When I practice throwing strikes outside of league and tournaments, I pay attention to how my ball is entering into the pocket and make subtle moves depending on the ball, pattern and transition agression. On aggressive transitions, I move while using the same ball in all three games to stay in the pocket.

I have gotten a lot better as a bowler as of late and I am averaging around in the low 220s now. The problems I need to overcome is that when I move left, I need to slow my ball speed to carry the 10 so I am going to practive this weekend by moving up the board which will force me to slow down the ball speed with slight hand position change by moving one-in-one left from the original target. Hopefully, I will average around 230 plus by the end of the league season on various leagues I am on.

What I do now depending on the team I bowl against that night, I use certain balls that I know will look good for me during the night without changing balls and I don't like changing balls unless I used up all my resources from hand position changes, eye and feet targeting movements.

I love high flush strikes and I have been high flushing in the past but I am not relying on them too much but want flush in the pocket more due to slight change in my hand, eyes and feet once I detect I am high flushing. But I gotta say that high flush strikes look cool as hell!

In league I think you should watch the all of the other bowlers and take note of the lines they are playing, especially the better bowlers (because they are more accurate). If you are playing 2 and 1 boards right of two good bowlers and your shot is transitioning I don't think it would be a good idea to make a 2 and 1 move to the left. Also if you are bowling a line that 5 or 6 other bowlers are using expect to move very early or even try to find a different line that nobody else is playing. Also keep in mind where your line is crossing other peoples line. It is not a simple thing, anyone trying to make it simple is going to be executing a fool's errand more times than not.

I’m not consistently hitting targets yet. I discount any ball that missed right or left. My house pattern is 41 feet, minus 31 is 10.

Problem with most leauge bowlers is inefficient ball roll so good ball roll is roll that is not sensitive to change there ball roll is ultra sensitive to change therefore they struggle big time my moves are 3 boards all night maybe 4 but i try to roll it with efficient ball roll no lifting not throwing no grabbing so it really doesn't read the 1st 30 feet while still rolling

Hi Jay and Carolyn been watching some of your videos and some are helpful. let me tell you a little about myself Im 77 years of age been bowling leagues since early 70s iv even bowled over seas in Japan and England over the years Iv found if I start moving around like couple boards left or right I learned it gets confusing a nd games are over and knight was bad I feel what works for me over the years is more of moving forward or back keeping the same spot and then if necessary start the move left or right but figure that out before secound game. my games are usually the best now at second and third games. I bowl 4 leagues now and average between 185-195 (age waits for no one ha) Ive been blessed with 2 300 games over the years and once upon time carried over 200 average. People should know during practice in leagues which ball they should start with or feel comfortable with. if they don"t have a ball that hooks move to right and throw straight at pocket or move to middle of lane and throw over the third arrow. they would get better results. anyway just wanted to throw that out there. Old school right?

The other day on the show there was mention of an upcoming clinic at the Kegle training center at the end of October. Can I get some more information on that?

When I practice I like to get lined up with my bench mark ball then throw my other balls on the exact same line and see how they react differently. That lets me know how to adjust with that ball.

Actually I sacrifice game one, maybe only roling a 210ish, using my game two-three ball. So my scores actually go up from game one.

    Is that Pinole bowl ?!

  • @jyee2217 · 6 days ago

My third game is usually the best. I always show up after practice so it takes a couple of games to loose up.
