A iPod needs to come back. There’s TONS of jobs/places where WiFi and cameras or microphones aren’t allowed. Certain medical fields, certain military jobs, certain restaurants (celebrity things) I’m sure at like diddy parties no recording devices were allowed for example

As a life long Apple fan, it always annoyed me how they'd get rid of soon to be obsolete tech just a little too early. The original iMac had no floppy drive. They got rid of optical drives a decade later. Great for the USB drive business, though.
Before USB and HDMI became standard, the 2000s were hell for Apple users. I remember needing a dongle to connect my 2006 Macbook to a projector. The school store had a bunch of different ones given how quickly Apple had switched them around.
Just recently, I snagged an iMac Cube with 2001 display from the dump. Can't even turn the damn thing on because of its missing proprietary power supply and cord.

I had a laserwriter back in the day. Complete with a couple of font cartridges. It was truly amazing tech at the time.

I still use an iPod 7th gen touch 256gb for my music. I use iTunes on my laptop and both buy music in the iTunes store and download CD's to iTunes . My music is all lossless, have about 2500 songs and still have over 100gb of storage available.

Can you say for sure that Lightning is dead when Apple is still selling the cables? They stopped selling the latest iPhone with Lightning, but until they no longer offer first party cables (and I wouldn't count refurbished, just new), then it's still active.

I had the gen 1 and gen 3 ipod touch. Gen 3 was stolen at uni. Gen 1 was cursed, as everytime I drove into Fremantle it would play Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be or Highway to Hell when I passed Fremantle cemetery, where Bon Scott, AC/DC's former lead singer, is buried. Then it too got stolen.

Many people still use iPod Videos/Classics. I recently modded my 120GB Classic with a new battery and two 256GB microSD cards for 512GB. You need to mod the firmware of a 120GB Classic to make iTunes think it's a 7th generation, and you can restore it with the 7th generation OS, and it will read more than 128GB (the 6.5 generation limit).
