  Watching this again and i am just flabbergasted at how any of the family believes the word of some random, creepy, shady tweaker over the first hand accounts of Michael’s friends. How was this guy not suspect #1 the whole time?

  So....they get to his camp sight only to find some weirdo playing with a pistol while wearing the victims boots while asking “where’s Mikey?”  Case closed.

  I've been watching a lot of true crime lately, and I've noticed more often than not, it's police incompetence/indifference that makes a case go cold.

  No way he did anything to him self. Proof is he took his dog. He would of made sure she was looked after by someone trusted and had a good life.

  About tracking Matilda (the dog)&apos;s trail: According to Randy (Michael&apos;s brother) in this comment section, the police DID in fact track the dog but the trail ended in a stream and they lost the trail. The police never told this to the family and instead Randy only found out about it because he got the police report for EWU&apos;s video. <br><br>Randy is upset that, when the police called off the search, the police didn&apos;t tell volunteers where the dogs trail ended, so they didn&apos;t continue the search there and instead wasted efforts searching in all directions when they should have continued searching where Matilda&apos;s trail went cold.

  Recently met with tuolumne co. sheriff&apos;s dept. and was told they&apos;re reopening Michaels case, Thankyou explore with us, and all people who&apos;ve taken the time to read and watch Michaels story and share comments with us

  I think what saddens me the most is poor Matilda limping back into camp. &nbsp;She&apos;s probably traumatized by his loss and knows what happened. Poor thing probably stayed by his side as long as she could
