  Its much more than gladwyn. Its called the Philadelphia main line which include many towns in that area

  Went to an exclusive private prep school on the main line and went to parties in some of those mansions. These people had their own gas pumps on the property so they never had to go to a gas station. My parents were not one of them!

  I had &nbsp;a &nbsp;few Accounts in &nbsp;Gladwyne &nbsp;before i Retired. &nbsp;Very Affluent. &nbsp;Upper Crust. &nbsp;Well &nbsp;to do. &nbsp;Very Rich. &nbsp;Very neurotic. &nbsp;A shrink&apos;s paradise &nbsp;for clientele.

  The way that Goblin of Brigadoon exudes happiness over preventing families from having a home near him...literally flies in the face of the &nbsp;musical he references. The corrupting force are the rich American Tourists who find Brigadoon, but the happy ending is literally about how the expat is welcomed into the fae-like town with open arms years later, whilst his friend elects to head back to the USA.<br><br><br>The irony. But go off NIMBY

  My father worked for the telephone company in the late 40s early 50s. When I was a kid, I remember him telling me about about working in the homes out there. He mentioned how they had butlers dressed just like the one on the movies.

  Loved living in Gladwyne. These roads bring back so many memories. Its an old Welsh town and so are the surrounding towns of Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Bala Cynwyd, etc

  I&apos;m from the heart of North Philly. Growing up, I WISHED I lived out on the Main Line. &nbsp;The kids out there had resources and schools that I could only dream about. &nbsp;I&apos;ve since left my hometown, made good in life, and could afford to live in a Gladwyne if I ever went back, but I&apos;m sure I&apos;d have some latent anger about the whole ordeal.
