  No other program gives so much, all for our protection. Damn politicians for spending money on social engineering instead of wage and benefits for First Responders. Respect to all firefighters.

  hats off to all the crews that do this work. people think it is easy it isnt. many years ago i did a 3 months fire fighting course at HMS Phoenix  in the uk. before the course i thought I knew about fire after the course i realized how little i knew,  be safe out there people it is one of the toughest jobs there is done by some of the toughest people there are,  Thank you.

  I love these firefighters and the work they do. They're truly heroes in my eyes. This episode (series) is the most annoying and hard to listen to of anything I've seen.

  fire shelters are absolutely not designed for direct contact with fire they will delaminate and burn, they are designed to reflect radiant heat. inhaling superheated gases is as dangerous as the flames they will blister throat and lungs quickly killing by suffication

  Im a firefighter for structural and wildland firefighting. The SCBA mask fails at 450° F and those shelters are rated for 500° F sounds like its at a pretty high rating but Blood boils at 212° F because of the high amount of water in our bodies, That's the human bodies atmospheric limit regardless of gear thats what we watch the most. Gear reflects heat only for a certain time and only to certain external temperatures around it. Once its becoming to hot for us its beyond viable for someone without air supply and turnouts thats why we try to be in the process of backing out or out completely already. In a wildland fire distance is your friend because of radiant heat.
