  Not very clever waiting 18 months Wayne. Gather the other senior engineers being betrayed, collect enough evidence of the thefth and address this to the board, as from the second month already.   This makes zero sense. They offered you monthly performances bonuses in lieu of a retention bonus. And then you never got those promised bonuses... and then you SAT ON YOUR HANDS FOR 18 MONTHS AND SAID NOTHING???? Good grief... No one is going to skip extra money for more than two months maximum without raising hell! And if the money was supposed to be for retention, you wouldn't have stayed there if you hadn't gotten it.

  This story is a crock of sh!t.  You need to train your AI story generator better.  If this guy didn't say one word about the missing compensation after the first payroll, let alone 18 months, he's a moron who shouldn't be allowed near computer equipment.  That's over 140k that he could have been stashing away at a high interest rate or investing, let alone paying for his son's education that he was apparently worried about.  And for 3, count 'em, 3 other senior engineers not to make a peep for getting the same raw deal?  There's no way.  And there's also no way accounting could "re-route" almost half a million dollars from payroll to an expense account unless the entire accounting system was a piece of crap.  Auditing would have caught that and raised hell.  Anybody looking at the financial statement would have raised hell.  This so-called guy Bryce would have been sent up on fraud charges almost immediately.  Thumbs down on this one.
