This song was originally by the Beatles, but Joe made it his own. You NEED to check out his song “You Are So Beautiful”

The female backup singers got caught up in traffic trying to get to Woodstock so the band mates stepped up and did their best to fill in. He is legend!

Almost forgot, you should react to Joe Cocker singing "You Can Leave Your Hat On."

Joe Cocker doesn't sing with his voice, he sings with every cell and molecule in his body and the energy that binds them.

Need to look up the SNL version with Belushi "playing" Joe Cocker, and the man himself appears mid song.

Aileen wins the internet for describing Cocker's performance as "an exorcism". :medal-yellow-first-red:

I met Joe Cocker about 25 years ago when a bar was closing down on Sunset Blvd. My friend was inside rounding up our other friends, while I was waiting on the sidewalk. I smoked Marboro lights at the time, and had run out.
I saw a gentleman in a silver suit lighting one. I asked if I could have one, and he said sure. He was a accompanied by a blond woman, about half his age.
She said, "Do you know who you just bummed a cigarette off of? That's Joe Cocker."
I said, "Oh shit, you are Joe Cocker!"
He appeared embarrassed by her making a big deal out of it and said, "That's right. I'm Joe Cocker."
I said, "It's so great to meet you."
He smiled, and we were both satisfied that our encounter was all it needed to be.
The lady said, "What do you have to say, now that you met Joe Cocker?"
He looked noticably uncomfortable, and there was an awkward pause.
I looked at him and we both smiled, and I said, "You are so beautiful to me, Joe Cocker."
He said, "That's right, baby!", and gave me a big hug.

I was twelve years old when this happened in 1969. There’s something else that needs to be considered here. This was in a dairy farm pasture in the middle of August in up state New York. It was extremely hot and humid all weekend and the stage was wide open no cover. That’s what makes what Joe did that day even more remarkable. Rock on!!!

Probably the best Beatles cover of all time. I read somewhere that the female backup singers were stuck in traffic. So they had to improvise.

I once went to a pub in Bristol, UK - around 1975 to listen to Joe's former backing band. It was a small place with not so many people. So when Joe turned up to sing, we were all shocked, it was one of the most memorable evenings of my youth. He gave it the full throttle, even though it was such a small crowd.
