As many have said, the original by S&amp;G is the warning. &nbsp; This is the rage that the warning was ignored.

When Paul Simon himself sends you a message telling you Thank You for doing one of his songs justice....you know you did something VERY right!!!

Oof. A decade later this song is still giving me goosebumps when I hear it… what Disturbed did with it is nothing short of magic.

I never felt the emotion in The Sound of Silence until I heard Disturbed’s version. The impact of those words needed this voice.

  This isn&apos;t a cover. This isn&apos;t a song. This isn&apos;t a performance. <br>This is an experience.

And to think David had the flu when he sang this and still performed that’s why he was sat down because he had a fever. He has a phenomenal voice.

If you were moved by this performance, do yourself a huge favor and watch the official video for this. The visuals of the video, combined with his amazing vocals will move your soul. We don’t usually believe that heavy metal bands have the capability of bringing us such beauty. Here is living proof that we have shortchanged them and their abilities.

He did this performance really sick. &nbsp; He had the flu. 102 fever and a vocal lesion! &nbsp; He said he had to make a few adjustments to avoid hurting that lesion further. &nbsp; He almost did not perform but he said he couldn&apos;t not show up on such short notice. &nbsp; The show made him sit on a stool. &nbsp;and he still delivered a heart wrenching performance!!! &nbsp; He got a 10 minute standing ovation!! &nbsp; They had to halt filming! &nbsp; You have to watch the official video! &nbsp; The visuals take it up just that much more!! &nbsp;Paul Simon actually endorsed this version and told David that this is his song now!
