  Honestly as more of a Monogam-ish vs Monogamous person, I actually like the way the Thais do it. I think it&apos;s a lot more aligned with our true nature as romantic creatures. As I see it, it&apos;s asking a lot for one person to be another person&apos;s be all and end all until the end of time. Polyamorous folks call this compersion, that you can feel good about the other person&apos;s &nbsp;romantic interests. &nbsp;My wife has a gik, I have a gik, No harm, no foul. Keeps everyone from feeling trapped, caged or bored and allows you to more fully enjoy the time you have because you know the grass isn&apos;t actually greener when you can visit someone else&apos;s lawn.

  A Mia Noi is still quite common in Bangkok circles. I remember when my ex-wife found out one of her best friends from school had become a Mia Noi, she was quite disappointed in her.

  OMG Robb as a subsciber for just a year or so I highly recommend redoing this topic. IT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING and would be invaluable knowledge for a rookie. I am just learning it today and have 2 trips and 4 months of random Thai knowledge under my belt. THIS IS THE TOPIC that underlies everything!! lol.

  Thank you for making this video. I’m in a newly relationship with my Thai boyfriend, and we have now been apart for 2 months. I am certain that he is cheating, but come to find out about gik culture, I have no doubts. Too many lies... my heart is shattered, and I am not too sure what to make of it. He is of course denying it.. but could there be a way to have it as a honest thing in the relationship? How much are they typically using their giks???
