I think that there are people out there that are so miserable that they would rather see the destruction of the world than let it go and find their own happiness.

I was once a futurist and then a preterist ...and then i realized(it took years)that all of this prophecy was just a way to imagine god's will(intervention) for or against his supposed holy people. To put right a wrong...to save and judge...an allegory seen as literal. So easy to become fixated on this end times scenario. Thanks John 🙏♥️☮️

To emphasize the afterlife is to deny life. To concentrate on heaven is to create hell. - Tom Robbins

Once I studied Biblical Hermeneutics, I came to the preterist view, very reluctantly. It's plain to see now, that the end times were the last days of the Old Covenant world. (30-70 AD) The Tribulation was the Neronic persecutions (64-68 AD). The new heavens & earth is the New Covenant. I don't share the view much because it tends to take away people's hope and leaves them with so many questions, including, "is this as good as it gets?" But it does prove God accomplished salvation and He does now tabernacle with us, which is a marvel! Rev 21:3. I think just like the 1st Century Jews expected Jesus to be a warrior who overthrew Rome, we today expect to see a physical kingdom restored. But His kingdom is spiritual, invisible and within us. Our expectations blind us, and that's why Biblical Hermeneutics is so important.

So if Jesus couldn't get something that fundamental prediction Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27 (aka prophecy) correct how could he be God?

Thank you, bro John, You just took the air out of the balloon myth of last days. Revelations is questionable, the Greek does not match the greek of Johns gospel, nor his letters. And 666 is Nero, so it could never have been written in 95AD, because Nero committed suicide in 68 AD. Darby, Scolfield, and then Hal Lindsey pushed end times into the late 20th century big time. And boy did they lay a big egg. Lindsey wrote that the 2nd advent would come by 1988. Nothing. All this does is divert totally from love, and its actions. This too has played a part of the continuing collapse of the church. Without the end of the world, there is no reason for the fearful to meet at a building to compare notes on the end. Prophecy is a myth to scare people into the church. What gives them the idea that the next war would be the last one? Look where you're at now, people. Love right where you are, here and now. Instead of giving money for a useless building, how about a homeless shelter, or food pantry, or soup kitchen, or any of the so many charities that exist. You are serving and loving God when you do it to the least of its children.I dont understand the expense of a building used only a few times a week. When did Yeshua say He required a temple? Never. Forget the myth of end times. It belongs with the biblical notion that the world is a flat disc. Love and peace to all.

Question for Christians: if man is so much greater than the other animals then why is he so much smaller and or weaker than so many animals.

Example: The polar bear is much much larger than the largest man on earth, but it's not considered to be a significant character in the Bible.
Which leads me to ask what makes something significant in the first place?
We're all stuck on planet earth. None of us can naturally travel interstellar.
