Game looks great. Once it's out I can go play all 3 of them. I held off until it was finished.

The funny part for me is I have a friend who LOVED OG FF7. It was the first game we ever saw someone put 100+ hours into as kids. He’s since moved on from JRPGs and mostly just plays co-op with our old friend group for our weekly sessions.

Meanwhile, I preferred Suikoden back then, so I never had that crazy love for 7–9. I enjoyed them, but they were never even close to my top 5.

I gotta say, though, the R series has been the best FF has ever been for me. Closest would be FF10, but the R games have had me going, “Oh shit, Square can still make JRPGs with modern tech and ideas.”

I can’t wait for the next entry in what is now my favorite modern JRPG series, even above Trails at this point. Never thought Square would get there again.

I would say the world of Ivalice is probably as close to as fleshed out as the world of FF7 and I would love to see the world of Ivalice fleshed out to this scale. Imagine flying your airship to the floating sky cities in Ivalice. Although Ivalice's world is so much bigger it would probably take a lot longer to realise.

As for FF7, my favourite location has always been Midgar, I'm struggling to see how they would pull that off because they can't just let you parachute onto the top of the plate? Although a close second is the City of the Ancients, and I can't wait to see that location fully realised this time instead of the smaller section we got in Rebirth.

The game not having a fully physical release kinda stomped on my heart and killed my hype. It does look really nice though.

Was excited until they showed they had learned nothing from Rebirth and got a map full of icons to complete and Mai interrupts you every second while exploring.
Best thing about the Remake games is the combat. The tone and the Open world is what bogs it down
