As an interior design YouTube addict, this is the best design video I have ever seen! Experience how you live in your space, determine the purpose of each room and how you want it to make you feel, design for purpose/feel, and go slow making one update at a time to evaluate how it changes your space. This is the core, but it’s not flashy and doesn’t make people want to spend money. Thanks for focusing on this. I would absolutely watch three hours of this kind of content!

Your channel is refreshing. Tired of the same old target, amazon and home good hauls that only encourage over-consuming. It's nice to see someone actually teach design, thanks!

This video is so much more valuable than 100 x videos of "latest trends" and "dos and dont" videos ever can be.

He actually stopped 3 years of collecting images and thinking about the perfect colorpalette and stuff in 17 minutes. I believe and trust this man because everything makes sense. You can feel it immediately. Now I hate him a little bit but I am so thankful also! Instead of buying stuff, although my house is under construction, i feel the light, listen to myself where I want to sit down in the chaos, and follow my eyes through the old walls and the natural light sources. And when I am ready my cats will show me a complete other intuitive Relaxzone, for sure. But it is clear now, that I dont need 27 Interior Guru channels on yt, just my cats and Five By Nine and the credit card limit. Greetings from Germany.

You are really nice to listen to. Not exaggerated, not too much, but still an interesting speaking style which makes me want to hear more. Subscribed!

I have moved 40 times and have learned to ‘live’ in a space with basics for a while before I add those things that make my space ‘come alive’. Rarely do I keep furniture where I first place it. When the combination finally ‘clicks’ there is a release of tension that says”Yes!” There is a ‘comfort’ in the space.

You did a really great job in this video. So many folks I know, who bought a home, rushed to furnish/decorate it, only to re-decorate a couple years later, because "it wasn't initially their style." It really does take some time to figure out where's best to place/display each piece of furniture, family heirloom, each piece of art, favorite collectible/collection, each plant etc. And with each piece acquired, arrangement & editing becomes more challenging! Many people start with a color, or color-combo they like, chosen from a rug, or piece of art. Sunlight and various light bulbs can also easily change our perception of color shades.
And once you become an empty-nester, it's time to re-define & re-do all those bedrooms/recreation rooms!

I moved into a new house.
I placed my western saddle and cowboy hat in one corner and my nice dishes in an open shelf.
I felt right away at home while still sitting on a folding chair and table. 😂

I'm glad that hotels were mentioned. Hotels almost always MUST do things right if they're going to be successful, and they don't rely on the latest residential trends but, rather, treat a room as piece of art to be experienced and REMEMBERED. Of course, some hotels are better than others, but generally, hotels are great references.

I've been watching many interior designers on YouTube recently and just discovered your channel. Your style and approach to these deep and nuanced educational details are incredible, my fav so far!!

Do you have a video on focal points for open concept spaces (where living, dining, kitchen bleed into each other in a linear manner)?

I am in my seventies, and your videos summerize all the things that I have learned on my own with mistakes, trial by error. Yet, it also provides the excitement of figuring it out. You are truly brilliant to be able to explain it. I am reviewing my past decisions and look forward to making others feel more welcome. I appreciate friends and want them to feel welcome.
