I'd rather have more and need less than have less and need more.

As long as you are able it’s not a bad idea to mow your own lawn, paint the trim, and do the other chores and upgrades. It keeps you physically active and keeps your mind occupied.

My wife is retired and I am retiring at the end of 2026 At 67 years old. I am in great shape and now we have enough money and assets that we can relax and not have to worry about what we spend. But by the grace of God

RENT:<br>In retirement, I love renting things: RVs, boats, Jeeps, and even Slingshots. You turn them in and say, “Thanks, that was fun”.

We have much more than we need but still feel uneasy when we spend money. We have started giving our kids more money now rather than having them wait until we are gone. We spent some money in our go go years, but should have done more.

I'm 82 and now the $20,000. that I used to spend on Travel is spent on Healthcare. The paid off house still cost $20,000 for taxes, maintenance, and insurance. Now I am trying to sell the house so I can rent.

One reality of housing that nearly no American understand is that housing is not free. You are either paying a landlord, paying the bank, or paying the city. No one truly "owns" their home. Stop paying your rent, mortgage, or taxes and you will end up homeless.

$11K prop taxes. $2200 insurance. $10K annual maintenance. It adds up to 22% of my annual expenses to live in my house.
