Suddenly, a Hollow Knight comment :)
Few times I have encountered a memorization-based spell system instead of mana-based system in (Planescape: Torment and Neverwinter Nights) it always seemed so strange. Mage would quickly use all of the spells and turn into a weak fighter/ranger. Like a bomber - has a powerful payload, but has to replenish it after every combat. Because I had to constantly rest to replenish spells, mage was spending so much more in-game time than other classes, it didn't make sense.

I'm always interested in hearing about your role-playing experiences because they are often very different from my own. In the two main groups I've played with we never bothered with alignment unless it was an important part of an individual character's story or the rare spell effect. I've always found that people who use the alignment system as an excuse to ruin games were going to do that eventually with or without alignments. Forcing them to "play" a good or lawful character usually won't change that, just delay it. But the alignment systems in d&d have always been tacked on and poorly thought out. The one thing they do really well is start arguments in my experience haha.

On the topic of evil characters though I have opinions most people would probably disagree with. There are right and wrong ways to play a character that would considered evil by most alignment systems. The key is working with your DM/GM/Storyteller. Work together to figure out what the character's motivations and goals will be so they don't conflict with the DMs plans. Evil characters shouldn't be used as an excuse to ruin the story or mess with other players (unless of course they are ok with it.) Players that do this are what we call wang-rods and should be asked to leave the group. Evil characters are a great opportunity to explore new viewpoints and stories as long as you remember that rpgs are a cooperative experience. One of my best characters ever was evil, like horrifically evil, and my whole group loved him because I wasn't a jerk with him. Did I get into conflict with other characters? Yes, but I always informed them beforehand and asked if that was cool. If they said no I would find another believable reaction for my character. And the DM liked him because we worked together to make my goals line up with the story. Evil characters can be fun and dramatic if used correctly, unfortunately most people use them as an excuse to be jerks.

So I know you would like to have maps for the next two games in the series, but don't want all the extra information that comes along with looking them up online. Perhaps you could have one of your brothers look at the maps and make paper copies with just the layout and none of the extra stuff? Then you could make your own notes as you explore too.

How do you actually want to handle all the deviation from the 2E D&D rule system?
Like Alexunder can use bladed weapons as a cleric even clerics aren´t allowed to spill blood,
elfs can be resurrected, cursed items can be unequipt at any time for example.

Interestingly, charisma is used 2-3 times in the game series. So it's not a completely useless attribute.

EotB2 is very easy to navigate because it is so well designed and in EotB3 you may only miss some
optional stuff. I think you can do it without a map and it would be more fun to see a not all 18+ stats group
beating the game without having access to all the items and secrets in the game.
That would clearly set it apart from all the other LPs.

Don't stress when it comes to producing and publishing the videos.

Party creation in D&D is serious business! And of course, Tim spends 50 minutes before actually playing the game :P

By the way, I think I may have asked this before, but have you ever played Temple of Elemental Evil? I could never pass the entry cost of learning all about optimal class composition and such, but I heard it's a very good cRPG. It would be great for a future LP, after you know, you emptied that infinite backlog.
