I use the salad spinner as both the wash tub and the spin cycle. Soak in the basket my "load" of socks, pull out, minimal squeeze then spin. You were taking all the water out before putting in the spinner.

I keep a headlamp everyone's bedside table for emergencies. Super handy in a blackout!

I have a neck light, and I agree with you: I cannot get it in the right position to knit comfortably while keeping the light where it's needed. I also use old towels to eliminate excess water. I was happy to learn that it has good results. Thanks!!

They make headlamps with a better strap system that goes over the top of your head to keep it from sliding down.

I use the salad spinner before I put it into a towel to dry. That way it pulls most of the water out before I dry it on a towel.

If your black diamond head lamp is about 10 years old, the new ones are soooo much better. I use a cheap target rechargeable ones that is perfect for knitting in low light. Also, my knitting hack is to use a giant cheese ball/pretzel/snack mix container with a screw on lid as my “yarn barn” as my family calls it (the screw on lid ones are usually thicker and more sturdy overall and the lid can’t pop off accidentally). It houses larger projects that don’t fit in a small bag, I put a bunch of funny stickers all over it. It’s waterproof and the needles can’t get broken when camping, my yarn doesn’t accidental roll in pine needles or leaves. I usually buy the target brand cheese balls. I haven’t had one break yet .

Hi, re lighting.
1. Re the headlight.. as its positioning is adjustable, if you turned it upside-down around your neck it would work better.
2. The book light ..if you positioned is further down inside your shirt, or secure it to your bra with the grip, then bend the shorter length of the bulb to where you need it.
3. The twin light ..if you cross them and bend the ends to where you need the light.
3.a bend the ends quite wide around your neck and then focus the lights to where you need it.
Cheers from Australia 😊

I have a headlamp with two straps bought from tractor supply pre-Covid. I bought it for camping and reading in our RVs and tbh it’s great for knitting as well.

I use the spin cycle on my washing machine. Really does better than a towel IMO
