Knitting podcasts are not dead. There are just more choices than ever, and I love discovering podcasters with fresh perspectives ( like you). They also build community, connecting makers worldwide. I really enjoy watching while I’m knitting - something I’m doing all the time (& I’m unapologetic about it!)

For me, podcasts are more than entertainment. I love seeing what people are knitting, how garments fit on different bodies, honest feedback on patterns and yarns, and what they’d change next time. These insights often help me decide what to cast on next.

As long as knitters keep sharing their experiences, I’ll keep watching.

Soph knits daily should be here. Very interesting format of video about knitting without being a knitting podcast

The best non-traditinoal knitting channel (in my opinion) is Mel Makes Stuff. She's the only person whose videos I have rewatched, I enjoy them so much. She is always doing her own thing, too, which I appreciate, as so many knitters online are always making the same things.

Oh, I also wanted to complement your choice of backdrop, lighting and framing. You have a good quality production.

I don't think knitting podcasts are dead, just the big names are being abandoned because their videos sound too commercial and professional right now. I've shifted to watching smaller creators that sound more interested in their knitting projects themselves than in their channel or brand deals

Hello, I appreciate your channel a lot, so I thought I will share a little of my thoughts too.
I don't like usual podcast format with FO, WIP and plans, but I was thinking why I don't mind it at all in case of your channel, and I think the difference is REFLECTION. You are not only sharing stats of pattern, yarn, status of project, etc, it's more like context to understand what will come next, which is reflection: how the process of knitting was/is going and why, is this piece as useful as you anticipated, how often are you wering it, and why (in both cases if you wear it often or rarely). Also you share your process, like resolving problems with not enough yarn, with achiving your vision of the garment, with fitting it to your body - it's so interesting to know why you made certain decisions and how they turned out.
And I love it that you collect "numbers" to analyze later, like how much it cost, and how much cost per wear it turns out, how it is less and less with time, as you are able to actually wear you pieces.
I really like that I can see whole story, not only till "and they lived happily ever after", I hope you know what I mean 😅
Reflection is something that is common in all podcast that I enjoy the most. So the format doesn't matter for me afterall when reflection is present :)

I am new to the hobby and just getting into knitting podcasts/vlogs. I am loving them because i get more insight on what is actually reasonable with the hobby. I learned not to stash yarn and only buy what i want for the projects i want to make and that this is a slow hobby. I don’t need to crank out a ton of projects.

I really like Mel Makes Stuff's project vlogs or deep-dives, she does some standard knitting podcasts (SKP) as well but I watch her to help advance my skills and knowledge about knitting. We Are Wool People does a really lovely variety of SKPs and "Hot or Not", as well as knitting-related travel vlogs and other fun stuff -she is a delight to watch. Clare Likes to Knit is a new channel to me, and she does some unconventional project vlogs about 'post-production' sweater altering - it's nice to see options for fixing sweaters that didn't come out right that aren't just "I frogged it and made something new".
