I worked at a small airport in high school in the late 90s. I got a call that two planes were gonna show up out if Detroit and they needed some sort if bushings for a Chrysler assembly line. I was shocked when 2 dc3 showed up to get the load. I had to load these huge pallets through a door with like 2 inches on each side,

Airline tires are not built that different from regular car tires, they just have more stuff. Much more stuff. I have always mussed if the air flow under the aircraft could be captured upon deploying the landing gear, then channeled into a mechanism to convert that flow, which would be considerable, into a mechanical force to cause the tires to spin up, even to landing speed, could tires, and runway be saved? It could also help in slowing down the plane, if even a little.
