I agree Kelsea. I’ve struggled with my Etsy shop because the market IS saturated and I guess I’m not good at marketing (?). <br>I also enjoy markets but they are exhausting ( I’ll be 65 in a couple weeks !) and i did a market last year with about 8 other crochet booths… I was pretty mad .

I'm also in Texas (between Austin and Waco), and I'm having the same issues. I stopped doing markets entirely because the traffic was so bad and the other sellers were mostly droppshippers or 3-D printers. Now I sell at a consignment store in a cutesy small-town boutique. It's worth it to me (for the most part) to not have to do markets anymore, but my sales aren't AMAZING in the shop either. I've been feeling super disheartened, too, because it seems that no one cares about buying handmade items. And the people in this consignment shop are dropping good money—it's just on dropshipped or resold items. So, I feel your pain!

Everyone always seems to jump on the bandwagon when something's popular. I'm sure many will get bored and not stick with it in the long run.

so I havent been doing this long. Just since last June. but what I see is that the best ones I have done are right after tax return time, and in the fall. im definitely being more picky about markets and not just finding events that want vendors as a side thing, but choosing actual shopping events. those are hard to find. I also see just an uprise in vendor events in my area. there is a lot to do and most things are held on the exact same weekend. so lots of competition (with markets), lower attendance cuz its either too hot or they have other things going on, and people are tired of going to these things and seeing the same old crap. i also have a little featured area at the front where people can easily see and those things usually go first. one was full of dragons. one was monsters and that at least makes people stop and look. it could be a little bit of everything. I know personally. I dont buy anything I don't need and havent for a while. the economy is 💩
