What a surprise to hear Eric Nadel on this precious footage. Nadel quite literally narrated my summers as a kid in the 80s and 90s. Was great to hear him cry as the Rangers finally won one last Nov 1. Also had the chance to meet Willie Randolph once in the mid 90s. What an incredibly gracious, friendly, and generous baseball lifer and legend. I love baseball. Thank you for posting this and for leaving the great commercials!

Catfish won two games in ‘79. He had nothing left after his ‘78 resurgence. What a competitor. Left it all out on the field

Great to see Thurman Munson again.  I was so happy the Yankees brought Bobby Murcer back later that  season of 1979.  Bobby and Thurman were great friends for many years, when Murcer played with the Yanks before,  but then in August, this same year, Munson would die in the plane crash. My saddest baseball memory.

Never heard the monuments described as tombstones, had no idea Gehrig was buried out there

It just isn’t a game at The Stadium without that classic recording of “Our National Anthem”, sung by the one and only ROBERT MERRILL

I grew up a Yankee fan in Brooklyn. It's rare to find a road TV broadcast of a game at Yankee Stadium from the 1970's! What a gem. Incredible time warp. There's even a chance I attended this game as an 11-year old. Would have been in the RF bleachers. $1.50 or $2 to sit out there back then. I  remember the players from both teams. Al Oliver & Buddy Bell were excellent. Watched Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins at the 2026 Field of Dreams game in Iowa just 2 days ago! Munson would be killed a few months after this game in the private plane crash. 1979 was a tough year for the Yanks after 2 championships. Wonderful but bittersweet memories with this video. Thanks for the upload!
