  when I was a kid old timers day at Yankees stadium was still something to watch. I will never forget in 1962 when Joe DiMaggio hit a home run in the old timers game, it meant nothing but I still remember my friends and I go screaming out of the house and jumping for joy

  I my humble opinion the 1961 Yankees were the greatest team ever assembled. I can still name the starting line up. I was very honored to meet and get Mickey Mantle’s autograph. He was and is still my hero. I am 78 years of age.

  my first game at 5 years old remembering seeing the stadium for the first time from the bus went nuts then walked to the left field upper deck right in the sun had three fresh squeesed leamonades with my dad going sip for sip will never forget that old stadiim miss it  dearly

  The 1961 Yankees were something special. &nbsp;Hall of Famers, Maris breaking Ruth&apos;s home run recored, defense, pitching and depth. &nbsp;But most of all confidence and team chemistry. &nbsp;In Game 5 of 1961 World Series with Mantle, Berra and Ford injured the Yankees knocked out Joey Jay in the first inning. &nbsp;It was Johnny Blanchard and Hector Lopez who provided the power as the Bronx Bombers decimated the Reds 13-5 to win another World Series Championship. An amazing performance by one of the best teams in baseball history.

  I am a life long Dodger fan. I remember walking home from school when I saw a billboard at at a local bar. The sign said that the 1962 Yankees had just beat the SF Giants in game 7 of the World Series. I felt absolutely fantastic. I was only 9 years and true to form, I hated the Giants back then. In reality, I have respect for all of the Major League players, no matter what team they played for.

  Not a Yankee fan but it&apos;s crazy to see how much baseball has changed in 18 years. The faces that will never be seen again, the quality takes you back. But I was happy to see at the 2019 Old Timers Game that Bobby Brown and Don Larsen were there it&apos;s always good to honor those individuals who played in the 40&apos;s, And if anyone knows has Charlie Silvera made a Old Timers Day appearance recently?
