  The 1984 draft class was so good that the 2nd place ROY candidate would definitely win in 1996 and 99% of the time any other year; hell, Barkley finished 4th with stats that actually won ROY this century.

The &apos;96 class entered into that league. But the &apos;96 Class came in at a time when, culturally, HipHop became the most popular artform globally. Basketball is the most HipHop sport.

  This is exactly why I constantly type that I&apos;ll take the Best 4 from 84 and Pippen over just about anyone. And God help me if some idiot tells me Pippen wasn&apos;t drafted in 1984. No one ever said he was. I sure as hell didn&apos;t!

  I&apos;m a fan of both draft classes, but I will give 1984 a slight edge because of MJ. He recolonized the game.

  Here&apos;s another comparison. Look at the top 4 of each year. In 84, you have a point guard, a shooting guard, a power forward who could play shooting forward, and a center. All of them are All NBA 50 and 75 players. Then look at 96, all guards. You would have an issue putting them all on one team. That matters. You want to say it&apos;s the best guard draft in history, go for it!

  2003, those guys also wanted to be &quot;Just Like Mike&quot; don&apos;t let that slip past you. 12 years between 1984 and 1996, only 7 years between 1996 and 2003. The 84 draft class was just about done, but the entire 2003 draft class grew up as our younger siblings. I have 3 younger siblings. Me, 78, 79, 81, 83. If the draft class of 2003 went to college for 4 years, they would have been born in 1981. If they went directly from high school, they were born in 1984 or 85. Meaning they were little kids hearing about MJ and the rest even younger than I was. LeBron didn&apos;t come in as a Kobe fan, he was an MJ fan. 1984 is better. Plus the rule changes, c&apos;mon man.

  This is what I can tell you. A logically thinking person would automatically say 1984. The reasoning is simple. If you were part of the 1996 NBA draft class, that meant you were born between 1975 and 1978. Like Kobe I was 78, only 18 when the 96-97 season started. So people that were 6-9 years old in 1984 were drafted in 1996, meaning we watched and grew up wanting to be the guys drafted in the 1984 draft class! Which one is more influential? 1984 all day long!

  I&apos;ll keep saying it, react to Marbury, but do a GT (Georgia Tech) reaction as well. These guys except Kobe, played NCAA ball and were good. That&apos;s where I started watching players back in the day. Now that I&apos;m older, I don&apos;t have the time to just watch every damn thing. I literally have so many sports that I follow that I have to watch game highlights the next morning. All four Major sports leagues are going right now. I can&apos;t work and watch sports all day. There is only so much time in a day. All of the European leagues I follow are absolutely watched the next day. You used to need a newspaper, back in the day, now I can find out any score anytime I want. I can see the highlights etc. You&apos;re still a kid, but once life happens, you won&apos;t have the time either. This is in addition to YouTube, which is how I consume a lot of highlights. Everyone is on here. Screw paying woke ass ESPN money for their apps. It&apos;s free and I can&apos;t stand most of them, so I don&apos;t watch their segments with the talking heads like Nick Wright. Why waste any time on that idiot, so I don&apos;t. I can see what Bournemouth AFC did this past weekend whenever I choose. If I want to see where Sergino Dest and PSV Eindhoven are at, I can. (Dest is the best US born right wing back in the world. He&apos;s played for Barcelona. He&apos;s young, only 25 or 26. He&apos;s been with Ajax as well. Milan on a loan. All I&apos;m saying, watch the college game. You&apos;ll appreciate the players more when they hit the NBA. I don&apos;t watch nearly as much sports as I did 10+ years ago. 20 years ago I watched even more than now. Do it while you can

  84 definitely because the GOAT was drafted this year!<br>96 have produced the most all-stars and is a close 2nd.<br>Both have 4 players in the top 75 but the 84 players rank higher.<br>84: MJ # 1, Hakeem top 10 while Chuck and Stockton are top 30.<br>96: Kobe #2 /too 10, AI top 30 but Nash and Allen rank lower.
