Hey Tim try removing the teflon tape from the trans temp sensor, it probably needs a ground that the tape is interrupting.

As far as the bears are concerned when we were tent camping years ago I had stand-alone battery operated small motion sensors that worked great. Once I moved up to travel trailers and fifth wheels I installed motion activated lights outside. They were not only convenient for me going outside but would also go off late at night if something was out there. Now I have a German Shepherd who's ALWAYS on guard. I don't go anywhere without my boy!
