-36 C, that was pretty cold! Even colder than here in southern Finland. I like to watch Canadian videos. Your winter is cold enough and you are using units I can understand. Kilometers, Celsius, Wh/100 km….

I'm just impressed that the car works so well in that cold. Not every car can even start from -30 celcius

32 kWh/100 km is like normal Audi "fat tron" energy consumption. Actually it is very very good! Nice job, Tesla

Well presented data, I'm surprised other tesla channels haven't referenced your work. Anyway, thanks for presenting the community with real world data.

Last time we had temps like that in Calgary there were 7,000 calls to AMA per day for like 5 days in a row for boosts. My daughter's car died and couldn't get it started for 3 days. I'd rather have 200kms range than not be able to drive at all. I think your test was a total success and I was impressed as well. Much more reliable and safer than your average ICE vehicle. If I had to drive in those temps I'd charge to 100% and maybe pre-heat for less time. Also turn temp down in the car, leave my jacket on and use heated seats and steering wheel etc. instead. Thanks for doing this. Great test!

I rented a long range model y in 2024 on a -35°c day during blizzard conditions and drove it from Edmonton to Regina. It made it but I probably spent 2.5hrs total time charging. Now I own a long range model y since I know it can handle worse case Canadian weather

What I like about this test is that it is a worst case scenario. Normally, if you have home charging, the situation would be better because you would use house current to get the car ready for driving. You might also be able to charge a little at work. If it was my car, I would have probably also topped up the battery to maybe 90% on really cold days just for some extra buffer. This video shows the naysayers that EVs may lose range in deep cold, but they still work.
