I disagreed with you at first about the protagonist being annoying until you put a clip of him talking. I was watching it dubbed in my language at the theater and he was pretty normal.<br>I saw a reel the other day where the director said he didn't want the protagonist to be badass and that this movie is gonna be much more grounded than other adaptations and I got so excited. I thought it's gonna be a decent horror movie but it was just a 2 hour long video game cutscene with no plot<br>It could have been an ok trashy slasher movie if it wasn't for comedy bits. The scene after he shot that kid pissed me off the most. I thought it was gonna be an emotional moment and that it's gonna fuck him up and we'll see some character development but then he went "Nope, didn't happen. I love children. I'm a good person" . I think the director is an actual sociopath, idk who you gotta be to be this tone deaf
