I’ve always used an electric skillet to make my chuck roast, potatoes, and carrots dinner for the past 53 years. <br>Also pancakes.

I still have that 1970’s avocado green electric skillet shown in the opening. As a career-Army family, it went ahead in our Hold Baggage (along with melmac dishes!) to help us those weeks we waited for our household goods to catch up with us on all our moves. Loved hamburger stroganoff and country-fried steak. The kindergarten teacher asked each parent for a box cake mix and canned frosting for their child’s birthday, and she’d bake the cake during class! I’m cooking for myself now but can’t let go of the electric skillet - just in case!

I got rid of my electric skillet years ago. I missed it so much that about 5 years ago I bought a new one. Yes…they are still available!
