  We had a Malinois for 13 yrs until he passed and was the absolute best dog ever. He was so easy to train and was always there for me the wife and kids. So, after he passed we thought we would get another Malinois. She is the complete opposite. She is exactly what this video demonstrates. Unfortunately we had to send her to rescue. It all depends on the breeder and line you get the dog from. But, I suggest you pass on one unless you have the time and money to commit. Otherwise…. heed the warnings

  Believe what is said here ! <br>Spot on ! Cute puppy between 0- 4 months but if not trained properly a tyrannosaurus rex afterwards 😄. If trained the right way, best loyal bond ever you will have with a dog.

  Owning a malinois is a huge commitment that takes a dedicated person to work with them every minute of every day.

  I am a German Shepherd owner and have had two. &nbsp;GS are not for everyone either. I could not handle a Belgian Mal. &nbsp;Believe what is told in this video. &nbsp;They are great military and police dogs.

  I&apos;m a widowed senior female that lost a GSD to cancer. I went to the local animal shelter to adopt another GSD, but it had already been adopted. So, I came home with a Belgian Malinois instead. He was about 7 months old &amp; feral. He was in bad health, on antibiotics &amp; other meds because of stress being at the shelter. He was an owner surrender. He was under weight, but now at 14 months, &nbsp;he&apos;s 103 lbs. He was a basket case. Our first 6 months together was a nightmare. Because of his feral nature, he had a lot of behavioral problems. I lost several pairs of shoes, &nbsp;clothes, my sofa, &amp; he trashed the interior of my car. All of it is just stuff &amp; can be replaced. Because I&apos;m a senior female &amp; alone, I wanted a protector &amp; companion, besides, &nbsp;I&apos;m a &quot;big dog person&quot;. I work with him daily, but he&apos;s had a hard time &quot;melding&quot; with me. For months on end, he would never look to me, just &quot;attack&quot; &amp; bite. I&apos;ve had arms full of nicks &amp; bruises because of him. It took him 6 months to learn to heel &amp; he still fights me every step of the way on our walks. I&apos;ve almost given up on him because he just refuses to learn, fights my instructions, but I didn&apos;t &amp; will never give up on him. He&apos;s finally coming around after 9 months of headache &amp; frustration. Finally understanding. <br>Rayn is one of those Malinois that taught himself to unlock the deadbolt and let himself outside. That scared the shitt outta me. He&apos;s really coming around now. <br>I&apos;ve had another dog that was difficult like him &amp; the frustration gave way to the most rewarding dog I&apos;ve ever had. <br>With great struggle comes great reward. That will be my Rayn! ❤

  Here in Albuquerque, we were given one by an owner whose wife was ready for a devorce when neither one of them could handle this dog. After the dog had destroyed an expensive leather couch, she had had enough. Walter White (yes, his actual name) gave the dog to my cousin Renaul, saving his marraige. If I attempt to walk by &quot;Samson&quot; without acknowledging him, the dog immediately grabs my forearm (gently) and demands attention. Soon as I let him out in the backyard, he climbs on the roof, and terrorizes anyone walking past, the mailman and the neighbors on both sides! The mailman gets a kick out of this dogs display, and enjoys the fact the dog is waiting for the mailman.

  I used to have two German Shepherds and one Rottweiler, and now I have two Staffordshire Bull Terriers. The oldest is 15 years old, and the other is 3.

  I have a Belgian Malinois that I got from the pound. She had been there for 3 months. When they got her she had just had puppies and weighed 35 lbs. She went home with a couple people before I brought her home. She was 5-6 years old. The pound said she was a German shepherd mix. I was not expecting her her pop up on top of the 6 ft fence and look around first thing. She was great and hopped right down when I said. <br>It turned out that I had a Belgian Malinois.! &nbsp;I was with her at Home Depot and someone told me that’s what she was. He said to go home and google her. <br>I did and that was a big surprise! &nbsp;After her being at the pound for so long after just having puppies, I feel like she may have been at some kind of puppy mill. <br>She looked at me right from the first with a look that said, I just met you, i love you and please love me back. &nbsp;I <br>Couldn’t help myself. I did. &nbsp;I knew it would be a huge commitment. We spent a lot of time hiking biking and playing fetch. I know that is not exactly what she is capable of. I feel like she was very well trained when I got her! &nbsp;Walked perfectly on a leash. Listened to commands and was so great. <br>I am not trying to say I would get another Belgian Malinois! &nbsp;That would be out of the question for me. But I wound up with my German shepherd mix and I love so much. &nbsp;She is the very best dog I’ve ever had. &nbsp;<br>I have so much respect for the breed and I deeply appreciate the skill and dedication it takes to get great powerful dog like this! <br>I feel like I won the lottery. We have been together for 7 years so far. <br>All that being said, I completely agree that one needs to know what they are getting into with this breed. &nbsp;We are still going strong enjoying every day together. She is feeling her age as am &nbsp;I. &nbsp; That’s for letting me go on about my dog! She is the best. <br>agree

  Good video. We had a white Canadian shepherd before. Now we own 1 year old malinois since she was 7 weeks old. &nbsp;We have &nbsp;regretted it many times. They are so intense. We travel a lot and live &nbsp;on a good size sailboat. Now finally we are satisfied. Not regretting it. It is the most sincere purest friend we can wish. She protects, guards, plays, goes on a surfboard, ride with bikes, cars, campers. You name it. <br>On the boat it notices every little change, a dingy approaching or a dolphin. She, even at this young age will tell it. Nobody can come onboard if we not tell her it is okay. She learns and remembers and solves problems. Does parcour in the boat and on land. continuously. You have to see it to believe it. <br>You are dead right, these dogs are totally not for everyone. The need to have the consistency of their owners. &nbsp;Fortunately she is okay with 2 owners. Male and female. Although she is more focused on the male. When alone with the female, she goes to the protection &nbsp;mode. It is an incredible dog. You cannot compare it. Funny thing is she moves like a cat, sneeking up, and keeping her catlike eyes upon whatever she is after. No distractions possible unless we call here. The only thing we need to address now is less pulling on the leash. But still so young, we will get there too. She can walk without, no problem. &nbsp;<br>Resumed: do not get one if not committed and because you look cool. <br>Last thing: she loves to cuddle and suck on her favorite toy sheep inside the house, boat or camper. <br>Step outside and the switch turns to a different mode.

  Since I saw them on YouTube I am in love with these dogs ❤ More intelligent and hard working than the ordinary human . &nbsp;But loving them is also respecting them. &nbsp;Not for everyone…more than that …not for almost everyone.

  When I drive my truck on the back road, my malinois scratches the glove box to tell me to drive faster.
