I posted this bf, but I'd like to post it again. Even though as a foodie, I love this channel for showing a variety of Chinese cuisine, I love the culture and the people that are shown. No country is perfect, but regardless of the political differences, average people are mostly industrious and generous. I am gratified to see how kind and hard working Chinese shop keepers are, and how the elders are still respected and honoured by the younger generation. This is largely lacking in the West.

I hope the viewers will not just focus on the food, but really look at the people as they go about living the best they can. It's not an accident that the Chinese culture has lasted over 5 millennia.

the first pancake snack is very commonly found in Singapore and Malaysia and Indonesia has their own very sweet version too. Lots of Hokkien decendants in Singapore and it's called min jiang kueh. Nowadays we can get them with many fillings like red bean paste, peanut butter with crushed peanuts, coconut, black sesame paste, biscoff...
The other spring roll we called it popiah.

72 US cents for that dish is so awesome. It looks amazing. Normal everyday food is just so expensive in the US, I'm not going to lie, I'm a little bit jealous.

It's also very interesting that the kids roast marshmallows when I've had friends from the UK who think its pretty weird or who never thought to try it. In the US its like a right of passage for young kids.
