  AMD's long term support for AM4 was such a big W for everybody. The 5800X3D is like the CPU equivalence of the GTX 1080ti.

I didn&apos;t know anything about chipset and vrm compatibility and just went with what was compatible in terms of socket and seemed cheap but not too cheap (my pc budget was like 300 euros with some parts reusing from a prebuilt). The pc did its job for like 3 years but then it started throttling the vrms as they were overheating, so when I finally realized it wasn&apos;t the cpu that was overheating I downclocked it heavily to try to limp the pc until I could upgrade it. It lasted another year and then it just died.

  We built my grandson a AM4 computer with a B550 board for christmas, six months later the board went out, sent it in for warranty repair, and it broke again three boots into being reinstalled. At that point I wanted to throw that board in the trash so I pulled out my old B350 board, updated the bios, slapped his 5800XT in there and have had no issues since. Coolest socket line ever!

  Cool. Finally someone used the legendary but somehow forgotten NH-U14S. Still a fantastic air cooler, but totally overlooked for years. 🥰

  Been running B350 Tomahawk with 5800X3D as my main rig ever since it came out, still going strong
