  The fact that he didn&apos;t reconsider it although he was not feeling well and the weather conditions not ideal is unwise not brave.

  I used to be a dare devil as a youth, riding my motorcycles on all type of tracks, racing on the streets and mountains. I remember thinking the accolades would be worth it if I ever died. Now that I&apos;m older, I feel my thought process was insane and would never gamble my life life like that if i had to do it again.

  If he didn&apos;t climb that route up then he did zero preparation to snowboard down it.

  The first ski descent of the Hornbein Couloir occurred on October 15, 2025. Jim Morrison completed the 12,000 vertical foot descent in 4 hours and 5 minutes. Amazing.

  His risk taking sounds like an addiction, and then of course the fame that goes along with such an accomplishment is also addicting. It is so sad that someone so talented &nbsp;and who many seemed to have loved, &nbsp;let the adrenaline of the adventure get in the way of safety. Perhaps the onset of the adrenaline rush caused him to fail to logically assess the inherent danger of such an extremely steep slope and the overwhelming odds of defying gravity. <br>Some challenges are not made to be conquered but just admired from a bit of a distance. <br><br>Marco stated, &quot;when you come close to the edge, it chills you to the bone and you realize you&apos;re not much. It&apos;s clear.&quot; But was it really that clear when he looked down &quot;the edge?&quot; Or did his need for that &quot;adrenaline rush,&quot; combined with death-zone thinking made him completely ignore the potential deadly consequence of the Hornbein Couloir. &nbsp;Sadly, the mountain, as Marco said, put him back where he belonged. He should have listened to the experienced Sherpas. <br><br>May Marco rest in peace. <br><br>On another note, I don&apos;t believe anyone should try to ski or snowboard down that steep slope. Between the quick acceleration on snow and ice to the laws of gravity, it is not worth the risk. <br>And this brings me to another point. It is quite irresponsible of National Geographic to sponsor such an attempt. Why? This isn&apos;t science. it&apos;s a risk between life and death -- more like a suicide challenge to the mountain. Call it Russian Roulette, but the chances of surviving Russian Roulette seems much better than surviving a one-way, no-turnaround, ski descent rapidly sliding down one of the highest and steepest slopes in the world. I pray Morrison makes it or has the common sense not to try.

  It is not a failure to know when it’s best to stop, rest or wait. Marco was so young. Such a tragic loss.

  To be in your early 20s and feel so free and invincible is the very essence of life. They say to die young and leave a beautiful body. &nbsp;Well. I survived and became a Mom of 3 and lost my middle daughter at 24. An age I had said I would go at. It hurts like hell. But I know where she is and a precious angel and I am a ghost who roams this earth without her. Ill never have the joy of watching her become a woman. She wanted to be a Mom. She got to be. I thank God he gave her her only wish here in earth. I watched my great granma mourn her son all her life and I am her and she is me. My Sarah, forever young. If Marco is with her, I hope he is showing her how to snowboard on the clouds with huge sniles. While I wake from my dreams, in tears and ache for her Here on earth. Only the good die young. Only the most precious, who live like there is no tomorrow, truly live. The years aren&apos;t counted in the same way. I have had so many losses, but to lose ones so young is so bittersweet. Sweet and bitter. Bitter and sweet. Forever in their 20s when life and the world seem limitless. I dont know how to put it into words. Its been 2 years for me now. Almost 3. I WILL see her again and meet this Marco too someday. And be with all who i loved and lost I know this. I have to earn that moment while here. I hope I do. I live to ❤ 🙏
