Do YOU think Lopsang’s decision to short-rope Sandy Hill Pittman at 26,000 feet was the moment that changed the outcome of the entire expedition?

Watch More:
He Was Loved. Then Hated. I think that when you climb Everest, you're ultimately responsible for yourself. No Sherpa owes anyone their life.

1996 was the worst year on Everest. Lobsang could hardly be held responsible for the disaster.

to put the fault on the sherpa that did more than humanly possible makes me sick.

Lobsang was put in an impossible position, caught between trying to save himself and assist a woman who shouldn't have even been on the mountain.

It was not Lobsang's fault but the expedition leader who made Lobsang to carry Pounds at 26000 feet and then had to pull Sandy up. Shouldn't Sandy be dropped up at 26000 feet by helicopter if she is not able to climb. You expect Lobsang to carry 240 pounds, fix ropes and pull Sandy up all that without oxygen?

No one is to blame, everyone went on their own accord. Responsibility relies with each individual.

Beck Weathers actually got up and walked into the camp triage. He did not die. There is an excellent Ted Talk by Dr. Ken Kamler about this miracle and how his brain had the will to survive.

The world wanted to blame someone… they should’ve blamed the very people who wanted to go up!!! Blame urself… not the people who actually tried helping! That journalist should’ve had the ballys to blame himself!
