Thanks for another Philidor! At 1150 I'm playing it exclusively with Black, and do well against ~1450 bots <i>IF</i> they are at all passive in the opening. Against an energetic Bishop and Knight attacker I find that exact tactical play is required to hold on, but I do sometimes manage that and come out of the opening OK. Of course, having Black against a significantly higher-rated White player, these are pretty good results. It certainly helps to have some key thematic points in mind. Thanks!

After the move Nf3 by W, why not Qc7 by B..?, followed by Be7 or Bd6 , then 0-0..it seems this would put Black 🖤 at a distinct advantage. . .

Playing against the Komodo chess engine B is under a lot of pressure against F7 one slip and he's lost. It's sharp. Other defences have more elbow room. JMO! lol 😇
