  This was an exciting game! I am starting now to use the Philidor defense. The basics of its opening is simple but one has to a lot thought before some moves. I see the advantage of the Queen exchange. Defending the King is much easier without the Queens. Thanks so much for sharing. I am 66 and trying to relearn chess. In high school (ancient history), I was once a decent player.

  Personal preference but i prefer the modern defense &nbsp;i feel like it allows more flexibility to either attack in the center or queen side
