I'm 73. I've had two spinal fusions, knee replacement, knee revision, shoulder reconstruction, and a 11 inch rod in my leg. I had a lot of pain at night, couldn't sleep at night, was generally miserable at night. I do a 5 mg edible each night. Am now pain free in bed, and I sleep well. Its been very beneficial for me.

I smoked pot for most of my adult life occasionally and generally enjoyed it. But I noticed always a little respiratory difficulty – a cough, sometimes bronchitis. And then I noticed a mild depression the day following my high. I stopped smoking seven years ago and have enjoyed high metal clarity, Very positive energy, and very healthy lungs. My ultimate high is a morning run and a cup of coffee with friends. 79 and feeling fine.

I’m an old hippie and have smoked for many years. The benefit of pot for me was that it enabled me to stop alcohol cold turkey and I’ve been sober 35 years.
BTW, since I’m now old I’ve also quit cannabis and have regained a lot of mental clarity.

My elderly mother (90's) developed gout on her knee. Since she had numerous side effects from pain killers, she wasn't given anything for the pain. I suggested she try a homemade topical. (This was before legalization) She agreed to give it a try. It did the trick.
Surprisingly, it reduced her anxiety levels, and her sleep improved. She continued to use it for arthritis. I would say it improved her quality of life for her remaining years. She passed at age 95.

Well, smashed my left hand at work about 40 years ago. Now, I can’t even lift a cup of coffee with it, the pain is acute. The medication from my doctor, makes my whole body very uncomfortable. I smoked pot at a party one time. I don’t drink alcohol. I noticed that my hand didn’t hurt as much. Definitely not a cure, but, to be able to have a good night sleep is priceless. So, yes, I smoke pot. Not the garbage they use for medical purpose. Of course, we have pot shop in Canada. No more street vendors.

I smoked when I was a teenager, and would laugh and laugh. Then the affects changed by my early 20s, I would get paranoid and sick to my stomach. I haven’t smoked for 40 years, but my daughter had some legalized stuff and I took two hits, and I thought I was going to die… I am not kidding! My heart started racing, I became dizzy and nauseous, and sweating. I couldn’t even walk. My arms and legs became weak, I was paranoid and terrified, and I had to lay down. When I closed my eyes, I felt like I was falling.
I was never so scared in my life, lol! The stuff today is MUCH stronger than it was in my youth.

I loved it when I was 16-17 (1978-79) then in my senior year in college I tried it, and it wasn't as fun and a lot stronger. Now, no way, I'm a zombie, I just sit and stare. As a kid, we'd laugh our asses off.
