Also, it’s not fair to say that he didn’t care when people got sick. He left, because that was most likely court protocol. In today’s world, when the danger comes close, the leaders are either somewhere in the sky, or somewhere underground.

Ruth Goodman is my history hero. If you've never heard of her,please look into her. Amazon has some TV shows she and other historians are in where they live like common Tudors,Victorian's,etc for months. There's a lot of content with Ruth here on YouTube too. She's amazing.

I’ve seen some contradictory information about the German bride whose marriage he had annulled. My understanding is that she was very young and beautiful and he was old and obese, with a rotten smelly leg. There’s speculation that she didn’t like his appearance and this made him so enraged that he said she wasn’t pretty enough. Now I’m hearing for the first time it’s because she stank. Considering history is written by the victor, I really question that theory.
