This is the reason they are doing the remake, many people don't even understand who Athena really is.

the hooded woman is calliope, as kratos said to her in sons of sparta "who you are right now is only a fragment of who you will become" thats obvious foreshadowing

The one who "rejected us" is Kratos GoW III and the one who "failed us" is Odin GoWR

Its got to be calliope, her appearing in sons of sparta and showing her relationship with kratos had to be a sign of her importance later in the series. Maybe in the remake they'll flesh out more of her and Athenas story

Calliope could also help be an interesting figure in Atreus’s story if the next game follows him more closely

Imagine if Kratos found himself in a situation where he had to choose between Atreus and Calliope. That would be insane, I really wonder which one he would choose.

That is an interesting theory but it’s more a wait and see approach, it would make sense why sons of Sparta features Kratos narrating a story to Calliope.

Kratos told cailople that you grow beyond is a fragment of yourself that was foreshadowing

Athena trying to be the one god of only Greece makes sense for her. Calliope being against Kratos ckuld be something.

Her and Atreus interacting and him (and us) not knowing she's his older half-sister would be very wholesome.
