At 45:40 I want to clarify something I said that was inaccurate. I stated Satan once was considered the God of prosperity.

That’s 100% inaccurate.
It was Mammon. Mammon is the Aramaic word meaning “wealth” or “riches”.

Centuries later, medieval Christians began depicting Mammon as a demon or prince of hell associated with greed.

I lived in a grand old victorian mansion as a child for a couple of years, then we moved away. About a week after we moved in I was trying to slide down the bannister of the grand staircase wall carrying a ball and I fell, waking up in the childrens hospital in intensive care a couple days later. The story was written up in the local news, but it got my dad's name and a few other details wrong. Spin forward 40 years and the new owners of the mansion tracked me down on a dollhouse group about how I'd love to make a dollhouse of the mansion. I gave them information on the house and toured it when passing through town to tell them how things had changed since the 1970s. The place does bed and breakfast and at halloween they do a ghost hunt/fun haunted house tour. Some of the locals told about a girl who lived at the house and fell off the balcony and died! She laughed and told them that they'd talked to me and I'm very much alive. Since we didn't live long in the community, probably people didn't know what had happened to the girl in the story and since we weren't in the community probably assumed I"d died. It's fun to be an urban legend.

People should treat the field more like a science

This has just reiterated everything I thought about the Warrens. Thank you for bringing all this research into the light. What bothered me about many of these so called psychics is their quick judgement that every thing is a demon. It shoot their credibility to hell. Fantastic job!

Jason, I have followed you since the beginning of Ghost Hunters. I always loved that you never sensationalize and try to stick to facts. I never question your integrity. The only other hunters I follow are ones you work with. I watch some of these other shows that call themselves "ghost hunters" and usually within a few minutes I stop watching. So just want you to know how much you are appreciated for your integrity in the field! And now I am following Stevi, I am really impressed with her knowledge and research!

When I was 8, in 1976, my Mom had sewn together a Raggedy Anne Doll for myself and a Raggedy Andy doll for my sister from patterns, for Christmas. After receiving my doll, I came down with the worse case of pink eye, to the point that you could only see my pupils in both eyes. Then, I had a nightmare, it's as vivid to me now, as it was then. The nightmare was about that doll and other dolls pushing me out of the 2nd story window of the school I was attending at the time. But, the Raggedy Anne was the ringleader giving orders to the other dolls. I've never liked dolls since, I never asked for Barbies, never played with any dolls, with the exception of the Mork from Ork doll with the talking backpack. I can't recall what ever happened to the Raggedy Anne and Andy dolls, but I know they weren't around for very long. Fast forward till recent years, I had seen advertisements for the Annabelle movies, seen the movie portrayed doll, but never watched the movies and never knew that the REAL Annabelle was a Raggedy Anne, until a few years ago. Then, I thought back to when I was 8, and it made sense. Those Raggedy dolls are inherently evil, imho.

Hey @JasonHawes, been watching Ghost Hunters since the first episode way back when, honestly was probably way too young as I was in elementary school at the time but Ghost Hunters was my first paranormal show that wasn't fictional and I loved watching the debunking just as much as the actual evidence you guys found and you guys helped take a lot of fear out of the unexplainable events by showing how you debunked things. And also made it harder for me to watch other Ghost "hunting" shows specifically because of their lack of scientific approaches. That being said, I have been having just one specific type of activity that I can't figure out. Over 7 and a half years ago my Dad passed, about four years ago, my Mom and I got a cheap battery operated candle that turns on when you twist the fake flame top down. The first time it turned itself on by itself, startled me and made my mom chuckle. We both joked that it must be Dad. Honestly, it reminded me of the flashlight experiments that you guys used to do and again took the fear out of the situation, plus the fact that we were 99% certain that it was my Dad if it was a ghost, because the house was built just before we moved in so there were no previous owners. That candle kept turning itself on randomly throughout the years and sometimes would do it on command or while Mom and I were talking about something and one of us just would randomly ask what Dad would think. It would also turn itself off sometimes too so it would come on then turn off again. Back in December when Mom was hospitalized after being diagnosed with lung cancer that spread to her brain, my roommate and I started noticing that it would turn on more often, when my roommate and I had to move into an apartment out of that house, that candle was brought with us and has still been randomly turning itself on and off, and the unfortunate part is that it turned itself almost every night the week of my Mom's passing at the end of March. It's since backed off to maybe once or twice a month after that. So just curious as to if this activity might be something or if as someone who has been dealing with a lot of grief over the years, if I'm reading too much into it.

Great interview! I totally agree with everything said. Sadly, so many people watching a lot of the ghost hunting YouTubers videos that claim demons and evil spirits in every single video believe them. They also believe all dolls are creepy and possessed by evil spirits. Honestly, I never believed the Warrens. True honest ghost hunting has been hijacked by greedy people faking/staging their videos. They make bank on their videos on YouTube and the merch they sell. I feel the same way about all of the places that charge big money to ghost hunting at the house/building they own. They fill you with all of the horror stories that supposedly happened there and what people have experienced there, so you are already psyched up and expecting to experience the same things, which are all just hearsay, rumors and old folklore. So you automatically believe every noise you hear is an evil spirits. Wasted time and money! The first rule in ghost hunting is debunking everything, not assuming it’s a demon or evil spirits. There are only a small handful of ghost hunters who try to debunk things, yet they don’t have tons of subscribers. Why? Because they aren’t claiming demons and evil spirits in all of their videos. They do what they are supposed to do which is debunking. People are falsely lead to believe there are demons and evil spirits in every single house/building. They aren’t! There are many reasons why there are noises, floors creaking, windows slamming shut and NONE of them are paranormal. DEBUNK, DEBUNK, DEBUNK!
