  Watched for a few years now and finally used some knowledge in work yesterday on a taski floor cleaning machine. Was intermittently and the so called expert brought in recommended a new motor at a cost of 500 quid, didn't sit right with me so took it on myself to have a look and found all that was wrong was the four brushes were not making good contact, a little shaving of all sides and it works perfectly again.   Nothing quite like spending all day working with some of these tools only to arrive home, having a shower, dinner and watch youtube videos on how to repair them.  Thanks Dean.

  Me craning my neck over to get a better look at the soldering work when i know damn well im looking at a video and its not going to give a better view. 😂😂 Also i used to have a guy who dropped off random pcs and laptops for repair when i did that stuff for a living, never left a phone number always paid cash. Always thought it was shady. Turns out he dumpster dived for all of it. He would offload the more difficult repairs to various shops and have them fixed if he could make a profit.

  Dean,due to cleaning Switches, if not available, or being too expensive,i rescued all on off Switches, i almost put in the trash, i was able,opening most of them, and after some cleaning, they work fine again.

  For the successor of the banged up Weller iron: Make it a habit to clean the tip in a container with brass wool after use. Then tin the tip with fresh solder before you put it away. The tip will last a lot longer and will be much nicer to use over time.

  Great repairs. &nbsp;You have a good variety of different drills that you use for disassembly. &nbsp;I’m surprised that you don’t use any flux when you’re soldering/desoldering. &nbsp;It makes it so much easier.
