  I know for an absolute FACT that Olive Garden does NOT make their breadsticks. They’re a proprietary item that they get shipped in by Sysco that comes frozen in a box.

  For my fiftieth birthday we went to Olive Garden and I asked for extra pasta sauce because like you I was like where's the sauce (and I actually am Sicilian) and they brought me out a small ramekin filled not even halfway up. I asked the server why they were rationing the pasta sauce and the server confirmed that they were in fact told to ration the pasta sauce and he had no idea why. I never went back.

  The point of the breadsticks for me are to dip into all the sauces or salad dressing and into their soups.
