  Watching this video makes me sooo glad I only ever did 1 x 3 week stint of blade repair. The shittest job I’ve ever done in my 27 year career as a rope access tech. <br><br>People weren’t made to spend the amount of time expected in an harness doing this job. <br><br>So when he says it’s time to go to work… he’ll sit there for about 5 hrs with the blood draining from his feet. <br><br>I feel sorry for anyone choosing this as a career option.

  This is the first time I see a wind turbine rope acess done alone. I thought it was a rule the work should be done in pair?

  I never understood why people think it&apos;s wise to record themselves doing multiple things wrong. <br><br>For starters, the angle on that deviation is wild, once you go over it&apos;ll be past 90 degrees, not only is the deviation not necessary you&apos;d certainly want to double it up because if it failed and your ropes came loose and hit the edge of the hatch you&apos;d be dead.<br><br>Secondly abseiling while holding your backup is a no no.<br><br>Thirdly and most importantly you are lone working on a blade with your team mate in the deck. So what&apos;s your rescue plan if you get into trouble? If it&apos;s rigged for rescue he&apos;s in no position to operate the controls. If it&apos;s not rigged for rescue he&apos;s in no position to quickly access your ropes.
