I grew up with one of the original 307 Flight Engineer's next door. He said that the fuel system was complex to manage. He claimed the 2002 ditching was due to mismanagement of the overly complex fuel system, not completely empty tanks.

Excellent video with great visuals - good info on the 307, and straightforward with no filler words or mindless repetition to build minutes!<br>FYI, I believe the rudder is attached to the vertical, not the horizontal stabilizer.

The last one in operational service that i know of was with Air Vietnam in 1965 and 66. I used to see it at Saigon Airport. I don't know what happened to it.

I've seen the last 307 at OSH, the one that landed in the ocean and had to be fully restored again. Yes it was a fat B-17, even about the same length.

One noticeable mistake. Twenty thousand feet is way below the height of the troposphere. The stratosphere starts at about 27 000 feet over the poles, is around 40 000 feet over US and near 60 000 feet near the equator. Otherwise an admirable video.
