Things Got AWKWARD At Media Day...

This media day got completely out of control… LeBron dropped a bomb. While Luka is relieved that he’s finally gone… And Steph Curry walked out of the press after an annoying question. But let’s start in Sacramento where a couple of female reporters of the team got caught on a hot microphone thirsting over Ben Simmons and Zach Lavine. It’s safe to say that they all got fired first thing in the morning, or at least relegated to agriculture and fishing news. But what about SGA’s hairstyle? He had a buzz cut while playing for Canada in July this summer. So how in the world did he grow a full set of braids in less than 3 months? That’s humanly impossible. I guess we’re faking a lot more than fouls these days… LePops also switched things up, freshly dyeing his beard for Media Day. This is how a normal 40 year old beard looks like, 3 months ago on his podcast, and this is him yesterday. But that wasn’t the big splash… What he’s saying is that the huge media backlash of him joining the champions, something that KD experienced back in 2016 is what caused him to overlook the Knicks. Damn, he also made it clear that he’s not making all the sacrifices just to fall short of winning a title… One thing’s for certain, the Sixers starting 5 looked really scary yesterday. You got 4 superstars and 1 freak of an athlete sophomore, that nobody really knows who’s the main guy… That was awkward. But wait till you hear the strange sounds that suddenly broke out while Austin Reaves was speaking to the media. It really is impossible to concentrate and talk after that. On the other hand, Luka is 100% sure on how he feels after LeBron James left the team. Him feeling great has nothing to do with LeBron’s leaving the team obviously, but it will definitely be interesting to see how Doncic leads the Snow time Lakers into the new season. On the contrary, Steph Curry wasn’t feeling this underestimating question… He’s got a point. They didn’t improve their roster as much as Dubs fans might’ve expected, but getting Yaxel Lendeborg, a 23 year old rookie who’s game ready and potentially getting both Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody back in the lineup early in 2027, still makes a very respectable roster. And speaking of Jimmy, he was back with his media day shenanigans. That’s just Jimmy doing Jimmy stuff... But check out Brandin Podziemski. Bro showed up looking like Julius Caesar but with a fade. This comment on Instagram almost killed me. That’s hilarious, but I hope he changes it soon. Let’s continue the high spirit with the reminisce of Kawhi’s iconic laugh… I would watch that show! And I will definitely keep an eye on the Spurs, especially after Wemby said this yesterday. You can tell that he’s hungrier than ever, it’s going to be scary times for the rest of the league. Another team that should be on the rise are the Timberwolves now with Lamelo and Kuminga joining ANT, Jaden and Rudy. From hearing what the leader had to say, I expect them to be a real problem in the West. While in the West, I’m also eager to see how Ja Morant bounces back alongside Dame in Portland, as well as Demar Derozan’s new role playing with Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. But the real jam is in the East, starting off with Giannis’ newfound problem. He’ll manage the Iguanas, but I’m not sure the league is ready for him, Bam and the rest of the Heat. The two worst teams of last season, the Wizards and the Pacers should also be in the mix, after bringing in a bunch of new pieces and the return of Tyrese Haliburton of course. New York, Cleveland and Boston are gonna be tough places to visit as always, but if we have to single out the biggest losers so far, it’s definitely the Detroit Pistons. Jalen Duren didn’t show up yesterday after declining the $200 million offer, and they’re still in a stalemate. This can only affect the rest of the team in a bad way. And speaking of that, the Lonzo Ball situation just got worse. He said something on a podcast recently that can put an end to his career.
