  Bob Dylan wrote this and recorded it. When he was at this concert, and saw Jimi's version, and was asked what he thought of it, he said; 'I may have written it, but Jimi perfected it - it is his song.' ❤

  You have to remember, this was late 60's.  We had never heard anything like this. Anyone you've heard after this, is because they had Jimi's shoulders to stand on.

  He was an inventor. He didn't know how to read music, played a right hand guitar left handed and taught himself how to play for the most part. He had an ear and passion. He floored well know players with what he would do because it'd never been done before. He had no rules. He followed what sounded good to him.

  Hendrix was an American but he made it big in the UK before coming back to the USA and turned himself into an immortal rock star. He was a game changer and he influenced the future rock guitar players of the world. He did everything his own way. He died at 27 and left behind music that will live forever.

  The wah wah pedal was invented in 1966. This song came out only one year later. People were just figuring out how to use it and Jimi was the lead explorer

  My older uncle was in the Vietnam War in 1969 thru 1971 and he told us that this was one of the favorite songs amongst the soldiers and marines that they worked with. He told us that it reminded him of the war, his follow band of brothers, everything. RIP Tio.😪💔💔💔

  72 years old , lived with this music all my life ,nothing better so grateful to have lived through those times but also great to see a young guy like you who is blown away by it. Proves we lived in great times.
