I am reminded why Montana is known as the Big Sky Country. The skies in this video are outstanding.

Hate to tell you this but that is not the platform for a station, that is a truck scale and that building is or was the scale house for an elevator. That track is just put there to keep cars from pulling up on the scale when parking.

That concrete slab is actually a truck scale.

I worked at the office bar in Moore many years ago. If you follow the highway 191 south from Eddies corner, past Buffalo, Straw, and Garneill, you will come to Judith Gap. On the North end of the Gap, you will find an old run down restaurant called the Carroll Trail Inn. My parents owned, and operated that restaurant in the 90’s.
Apparently Judith Gap was a place where train crew changed shifts, or something like that. Behind that restaurant is a railroad warm up shack, next to the garage. Inside that shack is all kinds of signatures, and graffiti, from those crew members.

The skies were mesmerizing the day you filmed this video. Beautiful solitude.

Remember the old commercials " We don't make things. We make things better. We're BNSF "

When I see old abandoned towns such as these , I can't help but think of all of the people that once lived there there hopes and dreams all dead. So sad

I can imagine the people and children of that community during its heyday. Lots of laughter, kids playing, old men talking about times past. All ghosts now.

The bank, church and school buildings are beautiful in their design. Thanks for taking us along on this old railroad video. Always enjoy these immensely!!

Easy to tell that they don't use salt on the roads in that area. Just look at all the '80's and '90's pickup trucks riding around with intact fenders and rockers.

@12:30, that concrete platform is a scale probably for the trucks hauling grain. In my youth, in the early 1970s I was very interested in Montana history. Between my parents, brothers and sisters, friends, and finally getting my own drivers license, I made a point to visit every county in the state. Now, as I am retired, I would like to do it all over again.

Hello from the U.K. What a lovely start to my Sunday seeing not only your glorious countryside and very interesting railroad history, not to mention those fabulous rigs(I drive trucks, well, lorries here in England😉 for a living) but also the REAL America, not the one we are misled to believe exists by media&movies and shown to us by two charming real Americans. You Tube at its best👍 helping people like FarmerTom to continue to be out in 'his' countryside.Thankyou so much for your efforts, truly appreciated.
